The Turkish authorities are preparing a large-scale project to combat illegal migration, and as one of the measures it has been decided to fingerprint all those entering the country.

According to the Turkish Interior Ministry, there are 4.4 million foreigners in the republic, of which 3.1 million are citizens of Syria.
