The symbolic key to the Olympic Village was presented to the chairman of the Paris 24 organizing committee. French President Emmanuel Macron called the event symbolic.
The village is located seven kilometers from the center of Paris and covers an area of 52 hectares. There are 82 buildings here. 3,000 apartments have been prepared for athletes. Almost two billion euros were spent on construction. 4,000 people were employed in the work.
The village will host more than 14,000 athletes and workers. Then 9,000 Paralympic Games participants will live here.
A canteen will be open here 24 hours a day. It will be able to prepare 40,000 servings per day.
For the convenience of athletes, a fitness center with exercise machines was built, as well as two saunas. In addition, there are seven training grounds for different sports.
A hospital and anti-doping center will also open on the territory. To move around the village, we purchased 200 bicycles. In addition, there will be electric buses.
After the Olympics, the village will be transformed into a residential area designed for 6,000 people. There will be two schools, a noise wall, bike paths leading to Paris, and a new bridge over the Seine. The office buildings will be able to accommodate 6,000 employees.
