OVER 100 LEGO SCULPTURES ON EXHIBITION IN LONDON

Famous works of art in a new version were presented at an exhibition in London. The halls contain more than 100 sculptures and other exhibits made from Lego bricks.

Here are Michelangelo’s “David”, and “Venus de Milo”, and Rodin’s “The Thinker”, and a statue of the first Roman emperor Augustus.

The author of all these creations is American Nathan Sawaya. He devoted almost 20 years of his life to creating them. The work took more than a million Lego bricks.

Nathan says that sometimes there are things you don’t like while working. Then he simply knocks off part of the sculpture and reassembles it. Difficulties do not frighten him, because Lego is his passion. For her sake, the sculptor left his career as a lawyer.

The master also creates copies of famous paintings. These include Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa and Rembrandt’s self-portrait. Another highlight of the exhibition is the six-meter skeleton of the Tyrannosaurus Rex. It is made from 80,000 Lego bricks.

The exhibition, entitled “Art from Bricks,” is currently on an international tour. In total, she will visit 100 cities in 24 countries. About ten million people have already looked at the sculptures.
