The Commission for Determining the Minimum Wage has determined the first salary of 2024 in Northern Cyprus.
The new minimum wage in the TRNC was set at 24 thousand Turkish lira net.
TRNC Minister of Labor and Social Protection Sadik Guardiyanoglu said that the minimum wage, which will be in force from January 1, 2024 in Northern Cyprus, was determined unanimously at the second meeting.
Stating that the new minimum wage, which will be in effect from January 1, 2024, is 24 thousand Turkish liras per month net and 27 thousand 587 Turkish liras gross, Gardiyanoglu noted that the minimum wage is set at 159.15 Turkish liras per hour , 1273.24 TRY per day and 6366.23 TRY per week.
Noting that employer and worker representatives saw the fruits of their calls for compromise ahead of today’s minimum wage meeting, Guardianoglu thanked both employers and workers.
Gardiyanoglu noted that the Council of Ministers of Northern Cyprus about three weeks ago decided to determine the minimum wage in the TRNC every 4 months.
