Walking is an easy way to a healthy body and mind

Medical experts agree that walking is the easiest way to improve physical and mental health, strengthen the body and prevent various diseases.

While it is not the only type of exercise that should be done, it is the first step to a healthy life. As recommended by U.S. doctors, adults should engage in at least 2.5 hours of moderate-intensity physical activity per week.

This helps reduce the risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, dementia, depression and many cancers. Walking also lowers blood sugar levels, it is good for bone health, can normalize sleep, and can help you lose weight.

Another of its benefits is that it puts less pressure on your joints, strengthening your heart and lungs.

Sarah Eby, sports physician, said:

“It reduces the risk of coronary heart disease, stroke, hypertension, type 2 diabetes and various cancers. It can reduce anxiety and depression and improve sleep. It can also reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.”

Does a person really need to walk 10,000 steps a day? Experts emphasize that this is only a recommendation.

Doctors say that walking at least 3,000 to 4,000 steps daily is already good for your health.
