The 7th NTD International Piano Competition kicked off in New York at the Kauffman Music Center. 16 participants from nine countries gathered here to show their skills.
Each submits two selected works based on the requirements of the competition committee. They must include compositions by classical composers such as Bach and Paganini.
The young contestants also showed impressive skills. Wei Wu is a recent high school graduate. He was the only one who dared to play Johann Sebastian Bach’s Toccata No. 7 in G Major. He says he learned a lot by participating in the competition.
In the coming days, a special piece will be presented at the competition. It is an adaptation of a work by artistic director Shen Yun Performing Arts. The pianists who make it to the semi-finals will have the opportunity to perform it.
The International Piano Competition is one of a series of cultural and artistic events organized by NTD TV channel. The purpose of the competitions is to promote traditional art based on true purity, kindness and beauty.
