It is quite easy to find and rent an apartment or house in Cyprus for spending a vacation or staying for a long time. The highest prices for long-term rent in Nicosia and Kyrenia, slightly lower in Famagusta and the suburbs of Kyrenia: Lapta, Alsancak, Karsiyaka, Esentepe, Tatlisu, however, in many respects the cost depends on such indicators as sea view, proximity to the sea, number of bedrooms, availability of necessary infrastructure, pool, garden, quality of the proposed environment. Rental prices may be negotiable with the lessor or the leaseholder.

Before signing the rental agreement it is important to clarify: rental period, can it be extended, the amount of the deposit and under what conditions it is returned, whether the landlord can increase the rent, rent termination date and conditions, whether anyone else have access to the keys to the property, possibility of staying with animals, whether smoking is allowed indoors.

All details are entered into the contract. The tenant may insist that a formal contract establishing the agreement and the rights of the tenant should be prepared and signed in English (Turkish).
