North Cyprus closes borders

Closing the borders of Northern Cyprus. Closing private sector enterprises, changing the working hours of pharmacies. Increasing the number of pharmacies on duty. Pharmacies, gas stations, bakeries and grocery stores – OPEN.

DECISIONS OF THE MINISTERIAL COUNCIL OF MARCH 29, 2020

DECISION No. ET (K-1) 515-2020 MEASURES AGAINST CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) VIII

(Decisions) The Council of Ministers, in the framework of measures to combat Coronavirus (COVID-19). As a result of the completion of the periods adopted in decisions No. ET (KI) 438-2020 of 12.3.2020, No. ET (KI) 440-2020 of 13.3. 2020 and No. ET (KI) 443-2020 dated 14.3.2020, made the following decisions:

1- Suspend the educational process in all schools, kindergartens, studies and training centers until April 10, 2020 inclusive.

2- Suspend all sports, social and cultural events in schools until April 10, 2020 inclusive.

3- Stop the work of all places of mass events, such as cinema, theater, concerts, festivals and rallies, until April 10, 2020 inclusive.

4- Postpone all sporting events until April 10, 2020 and plan to continue after this date.

5- Stop the process of obtaining a preliminary work permit for all foreigners until April 30, 2020 inclusive.

6- To consider on administrative leave all civil servants. With the exception of employees of the police, fire protection, healthcare, finance, civil aviation and similar services. Until April 10, 2020 inclusive.

7- In the private sector, close all non-food stores, enterprises, casinos, night clubs, bookmakers, entertainment centers, etc. With the exception of enterprises that provide services to meet basic needs of the population, such as pharmacies, gas stations, bakeries and grocery stores, until April 10, 2020 inclusive.

8- Set the pharmacy working hours from 08:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. noon until April 10, 2020 inclusive, the working hours of on-duty pharmacies until 01:30 after midnight, as well as add additional on-duty pharmacies in each district so as not to create congestions people in pharmacies and admit into the pharmacy no more than 3 people or a limited number.

9- Extend until April 11, 2020 the validity of the decision. Adopted by the Council of Ministers No. ET (KI) 453-2020 of 03.19.2020. Regarding the closure of all land, sea and air gates for the entry of citizens from other countries. With the exception of citizens of the TRNC, their spouse and children. Even if they are not yet citizens of the TRNC, acting on April 1, 2020.
