With the cooperation of Lefkosha Municipality (LTB) and the Solidarity Association of Patients with Renal and Dialysis Diseases, a sapling planting was held in the park “Dr. Zerrin Akalın” in Lefkosha Ortaköy district.
A sapling planting was held at “Dr. Zerrin Akalın” park in Lefkosha Ortaköy district with the assistance of Lefkosha Municipality (LTB) and the Solidarity Association of Renal and Dialysis Patients.
According to the LTB, the event was organized as part of Organ Donation Week, which runs from November 3 to 9, to raise awareness. It was attended by LTB Chairman Mehmet Harmanji and members of the association.
At the event, held in a park named after the association’s former chairman Dr. Zerrin Akalın, who passed away in 2015, saplings symbolizing the 66 patients saved through organ transplants from living and deceased donors were planted. The event re-emphasized the importance of organ donation as an act of social responsibility and hope for transplant patients awaiting transplantation.
