LUXURY FOOD IS ADAPTED FOR SPACE

This will be an incredible experience for those who crave adventure. At the end of 2025, six people will go into space for a spectacular dinner. The dishes will be served by Danish Michelin-starred chef Rasmus Munch.

Munch himself will also fly with the guests and serve food in a small kitchen. He says his menu is inspired by space innovation.

The group of travelers will travel aboard the Neptune spacecraft from Florida startup Space Perspective. This device can be called a “space ball” rather than a rocket.

The company says its pressurized capsule, attached to a hydrogen-filled balloon, will rise to an altitude of about 30 kilometers above sea level. Guests will dine while watching the sun rise over the horizon.

Such an astronomical menu will cost an astronomical price – 495 thousand US dollars per ticket.

In this case, technically the ball will not reach space, since this line is usually considered to be 100 kilometers from the Earth.

The menu will be very different from the dishes that astronauts eat. To save weight, dehydrated foods, including soups and casseroles, are delivered to ISS crews.

Chef Munch is preparing a real culinary show that will include dishes with glow-in-the-dark airgel stars, jellyfish protein and much more.

Munch opened his restaurant in 2019. Since then it has received two Michelin stars. Last year it was also ranked fifth among the best restaurants in the world.

Guests are offered a menu of 50 edible “experiences”, which are complemented by performances by artists, installations and the restaurant’s architecture.

Other private companies are now also actively promoting space tourism. These include Blue Origin, Virgin Galactic and SpaceX.
