Britons are welcoming the news that King Charles III will return to his public duties. This will be his first public appearance since he was diagnosed with cancer.
Buckingham Palace announced on Friday that the monarch was making good progress following treatment and a period of recovery.
In February, Buckingham Palace announced that the 75-year-old king had been diagnosed with an unspecified form of cancer. It was discovered during an examination after a corrective procedure associated with an enlarged prostate.
Although Charles III continued to engage in official government affairs, the diagnosis forced him to postpone public events in order to begin treatment and devote time to rest.
Meanwhile, a month ago it was also announced that Princess Kate of Wales had been diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing preventative chemotherapy. She started the course at the end of February.
The type of tumor is also not disclosed. Kate has also not been seen in public since undergoing abdominal surgery in January.
