The flying car was brought from California to the Mobile World Congress exhibition in Barcelona. This is a prototype for now, but it could be put on production line at the end of next year.
The concept was created by the American company Alef Aeronautics. It can take off and land vertically. The screws are hidden in the body of the car. In this case, the body is a breathable mesh.
After takeoff, the body turns vertically, and the car turns into a kind of biplane. The cabin also rotates, so the driver and passenger maintain their normal position.
The company has already created two prototypes. Both are working. Each one accommodates two people. The developers’ goal is to ensure that the car can travel 320 kilometers on a single charge and fly the same amount.
If laws allow, production of serial flying cars will begin. At first they will cost $300,000. Over time, when many cars are produced, their price will drop to the level of a regular car.
