The airline of the United Arab Emirates announced development plans for the current year. The carrier plans to increase the number of serviced passengers, operated aircraft, as well as launch flights in new areas.
From March 31, the airline will begin to fly to Boston, from May 1 – in Nairobi. Since the beginning of January, the airline has added two new directions to India: leather and Tiruvanantapura in the Kerala region. As a result, the total number of Indian destination of the carrier reached 10.
The airline plans to increase the number of flights performed to Cairo (up to 21 per week), Colombo (7 flights), Islamabad (14 flights) and Maldives (14 flights). By 2030, the Etihad Airways aviation park will increase by 86 liners and reach 160 aircraft. However, already in 2024 it is planned to serve 30 million passengers.
All air carriers of the United Arab Emirates, including low-cost airlines, were included in the TOP-20 of the safest airlines in the world in 2023, the Airlineratings.com report said. The ranking mentions Flydubai, Air Arabia and Wizz Air, as well as Etihad Airways and Emirates.
The study covered 385 airlines from around the world, when compiling the rating, criteria were taken into account as information about incidents over the past two years and data on plane crashes over the past five years, as well as the results of inspections conducted by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
