Screams, songs and complete delight. Spanish fans in Madrid spent the whole night celebrating the country’s victory in Euro 2024.
In the final, which took place in Berlin, Spain beat England 2:1.
In the first half, neither team managed to score. And in the 47th minute, Spanish striker Nico Williams opened the scoring. In the 73rd minute, English midfielder Cole Palmer equalized the score. However, in the 87th minute, thanks to Mikel Oyarzabal, the Spaniards again managed to take the lead. His goal was the winning one. The best player of the final was recognized as the Spanish striker Nico Williams, and the best young player of Euro 2024 was the already 17-year-old Spanish striker Lamin Yamal. And the best player of the tournament was the Spanish midfielder Rodri.
The previous times Spain became European champions were in 1964, 2008 and 2012. They also became the third team in the last nine Euros to win without a penalty shootout at any stage of the tournament.
