A teacher made an unusual gift for her class

An elementary school teacher crocheted miniature replicas of all the students in her class to give each of them a unique gift at the end of the school year.

Sarah Shabbir started crocheting in May and presented the tiny doppelgangers to her third graders at the end of July, when classes ended at the local Tyndale School in Oxford.

It took her about eight hours to create each of the 30 souvenir dolls – that’s a total of 240 hours.

The 32-year-old took up knitting during a quarantine due to COVID-19. When asked where the idea to make such an unusual gift for the class came from, she said that she loved the children so much that she wanted to give them something special to remember their time together in this class.

Before giving the gift, the teacher showed pictures of dolls and the children had to guess who they looked like. But when she started pulling out the dolls, the children were “shocked and amazed.”

There is no doubt that Sarah is a teacher that her students will remember with great fondness for a long time to come.
