The 14th edition of the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Sand Sculpture Festival and Competition was held this year. The event was held on Sunday, October 13, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the EMU Marine Facilities. The organizers of this traditional event were the EMU Faculty of Architecture, the Department of Interior Architecture and the Design Club at the EMU Department of Socio-Cultural Activities.
University students participated in the event, performing their creative work in the sections allocated to them. The competition was also attended by EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture Dr. Resmiye Alpar Atun, Head of the Department of Interior Architecture Associate Professor Dr. Afet Coşkun and other professors, as well as students from various universities and high schools in Northern Cyprus. The participants gave a speech, expressed their feelings and thanked those who contributed.
The jury members evaluated a total of 16 entries and determined the top five groups. First place went to Break Point, second to KAU, third to Whales, fourth to Dale and fifth to Gamma. The ceremony ended with an awards presentation and photo shoot.
