A CLOWN PARADE WENT THROUGH THE STREETS OF THE CAPITAL OF PERU

A CLOWN PARADE WENT THROUGH THE STREETS OF THE CAPITAL OF PERU

Hundreds of clowns brought color, noise and laughter to the streets of Lima. This is how Peruvian Clown Day is celebrated here every year.

Clowns march through the city center.

The holiday is celebrated on May 25. This is the day of death of Tony Peregil, known as the “poor man’s clown.”

In the 1980s, Peregil visited areas of Lima with a colorful tent to give performances. However, he spent his last days alone, bedridden in the hospital.

On this day, Peruvian clowns want to remind people that they put a lot of work into their work, and that their profession is worthy of preserving.
