Thousands of lights flash and soon go out in the night sky over Seoul. The city is hosting the International Fireworks Festival. Teams of the best pyrotechnicians from South Korea, Japan and the United States put on a spectacular light show.
The spectators took the best seats in the city park overlooking the Hangang River hours before the show. Each pyrotechnics team prepared its own show, accompanied by music. In an hour and a half, 50,000 fireworks soared into the sky.

“I come to the fireworks festival every year, and this year’s show is really grand, impressive and large-scale. I am very touched and want to come again next year.”
The fireworks festival has been held in Seoul since 2000. In addition to light and laser shows, there are concerts by popular South Korean performers.
Each year, the festival attracts a million spectators from all over South Korea as well as from other countries.
