1000 PATCHWORK QUILTS WERE BROUGHT BY MASTERS FROM VARIOUS COUNTRIES TO AN EXHIBITION IN THE USA

The town of Sisters in the American state of Oregon is considered a paradise for fans of patchwork. Here, for the 49th time, an open-air exhibition of patchwork quilts is taking place. 1,000 items are hung all over the town. They were created by 300 craftsmen aged from 7 to 94 years.

Not only Americans participate in the exhibition. Craftsmen from Canada and Australia also came.

There are no high requirements for the skill of the participants. Some are demonstrating their first patchwork quilt, while others may have been doing patchwork for 40 years and are also participating in the exhibition. But there is still one condition: the product must not promote anyone’s views, especially in the run-up to the presidential elections in the United States.

Participation in the exhibition is free. Guests are also not charged money. Every year, 10,000 people come to the event.

By the way, men also sew patchwork quilts. Among them is the husband of the director of the exhibition. He had watched his wife create beautiful pieces for years, and three years ago he decided to give it a try.

The exhibition was founded in 1975 by quilt shop owner Jean Wells. Next summer, Sisters will host an anniversary event.
