10 hours of nutrition: For health and longevity

Eating only during a certain 10-hour period every day helps solve many metabolic problems that are caused by disruption of the circadian cycle. Scientists from the Salk Institute in California came to these conclusions. This was reported by the RIA Novosti news agency. Scientists conducted a series of experiments during which they turned off the genes responsible for maintaining circadian rhythms in mice and divided the experimental animals into two groups. One was given access to food around the clock, and the other only for 10 hours out of 24. As a result, numerous cases of diabetes, obesity and fatty liver disease were identified in rodents that could eat at any time of the day. The second group remained healthy. And this despite the fact that the caloric content of food and its composition for both groups were completely identical.

According to the researchers, this scientific experiment showed that limiting food intake to a 10-hour interval per day helps maintain health and potentially prolong life, even with jet lag. In the near future, specialists will begin to conduct the same experiments with the participation of people.
